{"id":59,"date":"2017-02-08T13:58:12","date_gmt":"2017-02-08T04:58:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tad-toyama.jp\/en\/?page_id=59"},"modified":"2022-05-10T11:30:23","modified_gmt":"2022-05-10T02:30:23","slug":"greeting","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tad-toyama.jp\/en\/about\/greeting","title":{"rendered":"Message from Director"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"first-title\">Message from Director<\/h1>\r\n<div class=\"greeting-text\">\r\n<p>The Museum of Modern Art, Toyama was moved to Fugan Unga Kansui Park on the northern side of Toyama Station and reopened in 2017 under the new name Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design.<br>\r\nOur museum has one of the greatest art collections of the 20th century in Japan, which includes works by Picasso, Chagall, Miro, Duchamp, Pollock, Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol and Francis Bacon. We also have a collection of designs such as posters and chairs. The Onomatopoeia Rooftop also has unique play equipment using designs by Taku Satoh based on onomatopoeia such as \u201cguru-guru (whirling)\u201d and \u201chiso-hiso (whisper)\u201d. In addition, the outdoor plaza welcomes visitors with a large bear sculpture\u2014which can be said to be the symbol of the museum\u2014created by Atsuhiko Misawa. Ever since the museum opened, a variety of exhibitions and events have been held for visitors to see, learn, play, enjoy, create and express.
