The World of Illustration 2――From works after the 1990s
As a method of expression for posters, illustrations can do things such as, convey an easily understandable and soft impression that appeals to all generations, deliver a strong and captivating impression, or have characters that serve as spokespeople for the intended message, giving them a particularly important role within compositions.
In conjunction with the special exhibition “HOTCH POTCH: Illustrations and Works of Ryuji Fujieda”, this exhibition features posters with illustrations made after the 1990s. The 1990s were a period of change in poster production, driven by advances in computers, the emergence of various software, and the digitization of printing technology. Using illustrations as a starting point, visitors can enjoy not only their inherent appeal, but also see the evolution of poster production technology after the 1990s and the diversification of those expressions.
