Fashion and textile brand minä perhonen recently celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2025. In commemoration, an exhibition titled TSUGU minä perhonen that delves into the brand’s activities through the concept of “TSUGU” will be held at the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design.
minä perhonen’s creations start with textile patterns that have been handcrafted by designers. Through repeated refinement, trial and error, and dialogue with master craftsmen who are equally skilled technicians, these designs are transformed into fabrics, which are in turn transformed into clothing and various interior products. The exhibition showcases the brand’s journey of creating unique products while also exploring its identity as a brand that will remain relevant in a century. It presents this creative process through precious original drawings and textiles, as well as glimpses into its embroidery, weaving, and printing workshops. It is an exhibition that provides a touchpoint with the craftsmanship of minä perhonen, which pursues universal values rather than trends.
