Design Collection Ⅳ Special Feature “Japan’s Commercial Posters”
January 9 - April 21, 2020

Twenty-nine advertising posters mostly from the 1980’s and 1990’s from the museum’s poster collection are introduced to convey how messages such as advertising and corporate philosophy were visually communicated.
Posters are said to be “Mirrors that reflect the times,” and this exhibit of lively commercial posters truly reflects the times.
Please enjoy the vivid designs and accompanying ad copy of these posters for products, department stores, and companies among others that reflect the times they were produced in. This exhibit also features three of the latest posters from those being continuously created for the museum under the theme “LIFE” by Kazumasa Nagai, who is also the designer of the museum’s symbol mark.
