TAD Best Selection: Museum Collection + How Would You View It?
September 19 - November 3, 2020
This exhibition will introduce you to the works in the collection of the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design that are representative of this museum. The scale of the exhibition will be the largest ever for this museum.
Since the time of its predecessor, The Museum of Modern Art , Toyama, this museum has collected a great number of excellent 20th-century works of art.
This time, all the works in this museum's collection of Pabro Picasso will be on display at the same time. These works of Picasso consist of four paintings and three prints. They are known above all other works in the museum's collection.
Also, a display corner, which resulted from a collaboration with people who are active in different fields, will be set up at this exhibition.
Four persons will introduce, through their distinctive points of view, the works in this museum's collection. They are Yoshiaki Kaihatsu, an artist; Tony an art teller; Michio Hayashi, an art critic; and Mariko Yamauchi, a writer. Please enjoy new ways of looking at the works and the fascination of those works.
