Design Collection Ⅰ
April 20 - July 17, 2023

This introduces posters that feature various faces and bodies from the poster collection. Even amongst the wide ranges of graphic design fields, posters on the wall are a type of media that’s similar to our body size compared to media that fits in the palm of our hands, like books or packages. Various large faces featured on the posters appear to look at us straight on, and their bodies seem to talk to us with dynamism and presence. You should carefully look at various face interpretations and expressions, like Ikko Tanaka《The Ginza Saison Theater.》that conveys expressions more vividly through simplifying the face, the Taku Tashiro poster, and illustrations, such as Poland.
Also, you can notice faces and bodies powerfully convey something beyond words when you look at dynamic bodies and expressions containing messages of peace and freedom in vivid colors, like Shin Matsunaga's 《PEACE》. We hope you enjoy various expressions and interpretations of faces and bodies on posters.
