Design Collection Ⅱ

July 20 - October 31, 2023

Colors and lines are the basic formal components of graphic design, particularly for posters. Designers incorporate typography (the design of text), photography, and illustrations in order to convey messages through posters, but this poster collection exhibition focuses on visual expression through the use of colors and lines. Kazumasa Nagai《LIFE》 conveys the energy of life through creatures expressed in boldly contrasting colors that resemble paper cutouts, and the delicate, hand-drawn lines of Okumura Yukimasa《HIROSHIMA APPEALS》 offer a prayer for requiem and peace. Please engage in a dialogue with the posters while keeping in mind the power of colors and lines, and the feelings of the designer that are imparted through them.

From this exhibition on, we will also reopen the seating section of the chair collection.
