This exhibition will be held across two exhibition rooms on a scale larger than previous iterations. The works on display are outlined below.
Exhibition Room 1 will feature works based on the four themes of 【Human Figure】, 【Color and Form】, 【Mystery】, and 【Landscape】. Highlights among the paintings displayed in this room include famous works of 20th-century art such as Pablo Picasso’s painting 《Femme dans un fauteuil 》 and Francis Bacon’s 《Lying Figure》 for international works, as well as Taro Okamoto’s 《Myth of Tomorrow》 for Japanese works.

Exhibition Room 2 will feature works based on the four themes of 【Inner narrative】, 【Person Personality Character】, 【Resonance color＆Gleam】, and 【Action＆Trace】. Among the Japanese prints exhibited here in tandem with the special exhibition 【Takiguchi Shuzo and Kano Mitsuo : Semiotics of the Storm Petrel 2019】 is 《Two Bodhisattvas and Ten Great Disciples of Sakya》, a work by Japan’s leading woodblock print artist Sikō Munakata which towers impressively over 90cm.
The latter half of the exhibition also features large-scale paintings by Sam Francis that spread over 8m in width, among other masterpieces painted by the artist using his entire body.
