TAD Collection Ⅲ
October 31, 2019 - February 24, 2020

This exhibition will be held across two exhibition rooms on a scale larger than previous iterations. The works on display are outlined below.
Exhibition Room 1 will feature works based on the four themes of 【Human Figure】, 【Color and Form】, 【Mystery】, and 【Landscape】. Highlights among the paintings displayed in this room include famous works of 20th-century art such as Pablo Picasso’s painting 《Femme dans un fauteuil 》 and Francis Bacon’s 《Lying Figure》 for international works, as well as Taro Okamoto’s 《Myth of Tomorrow》 for Japanese works.
Exhibition Room 2 will feature works based on the four themes of 【Inner narrative】, 【Person Personality Character】, 【Resonance color&Gleam】, and 【Action&Trace】. Among the Japanese prints exhibited here in tandem with the special exhibition 【Takiguchi Shuzo and Kano Mitsuo : Semiotics of the Storm Petrel 2019】 is 《Two Bodhisattvas and Ten Great Disciples of Sakya》, a work by Japan’s leading woodblock print artist Sikō Munakata which towers impressively over 90cm.
The latter half of the exhibition also features large-scale paintings by Sam Francis that spread over 8m in width, among other masterpieces painted by the artist using his entire body.
